Create a case
The following instructions help you create a new case in Justikal using the guided case creation wizard.
Before you begin, make sure you have a payment method added to your account. If not, you will be prompted to add one before proceeding.
- Click the "+ New case" button in the left navigation to launch the case creation wizard.
- Select the case category: choose "General case" to prepare a case before submitting it to court, or "Court case" to submit it directly to the court. Each option is described in the wizard to help you choose.
- For a General case: Enter the case title, then add case parties, attach any documents, and review the information before saving. The case is saved in "Draft" status and emails are sent to case parties with access.
- For a Court case: Select the court and case type (New, Charge, or Appeal), then add case parties, attach documents (note that a fee applies for document signatures), and review all information. Optionally upload the court fees payment receipt. Click "Submit" to submit the case to court. The case status changes to "Pending" and the court and case parties are notified by email.
- If you exit the wizard at any point, you can choose to save the case as a general case or discard it. Your progress is saved throughout the wizard so you can return to complete it later.
